I have something pretty cool to share with you. A million years ago when I first started thinking of writing what would eventually become my first book, Red Sky Blues, I envisioned it as and intended for it to be a comic. Obviously that never actually panned out, regardless, it was important to me for the book to have some kind of artistic content. To that end, I secured the services of and worked with the ever brilliant Will Kirkby to get some absolutely stunning illustrations done. I’m still mostly positive the only reason anyone actually buys my book is because of his art. Come for the art, stay for the story.
I digress. When it came time to write the next book I knew it would have to have art as well. Darkweird is much stranger and much bigger than Red Sky Blues. It is also darker, of course, and sadder. There is more action and danger. There are scenes that I am thrilled to get the chance to have an artist bring to life.
And I’ve already gotten to work with a handful of amazing artists, who have done unbelievable work. Check out a sneak peek below.
Pretty cool, right?
There’s more in the works, and hopefully much more to come.
Now, if you’ve made it this far I’ve got something else fun for you. Starting today, Friday the 13th, and running through the weekend you can pick up the digital copy of book Red Sky Blues over at Amazon at a serious discount. So if you haven’t checked it out yet, now’s a great time.
